REALIST TYPE POSTER
This is a poster design for a research project exploring the Realist typography movement. The poster focuses on three influential type designers from the period, along with the typefaces they created and when they were developed.
For the visual exploration, I looked beyond typography and researched some of the other cultural and technological changes happening during the same period. This included the invention of the Edison light bulb, the rise of the industrialized printing press, and the Realist painting movement. Looking at these connections helped me better understand the time period and find ways to bring those influences into the design through color, shape, and layout without the use of photography.
